"As a young girl collecting seashells
in the sand, or hiding handfuls of my
Aunt Rosalie's landscaping quartz
stones in my pockets- I covetted these
beautiful jewels of nature and would
fasten them to myself any way I could. Drawn to ornamentation I longed for the
chance to play with my Grammy Davis' pop beads she wore to play cards every
Saturday night and the large coffee can of odd buttons my grandmother stashed.
Digging and rummaging through the many collectable wears of the women in my
family always filled my heart with captivation and wonder. When I am able to
bring that wide eyed discovery of inner beauty to a customer wearing one of my
peices I feel that same magic I discovered as a child. To this day the drawers of my
jewelry boxes are filled with baubles and once broken peices of lost treaures that I
see beauty in."
